Spring Break 2009 - Florida Part II

A continuation of the previous posting shows the happy Brodd Family. What would a family vacation be without a picture for the Christmas card?

The goofiest sunglasses I have ever seen!

More fun times in the pool.

Doggie paddle

and backstroke!

Overall, we had a great time getting away from work and our normal lives. To be able to 'relax' for 10 days is needed every once in a while to recharge the batteries. Thank you very much Mom and Dad for continuing the tradition of Brodd Family Fun Time!

Spring Break 2009 - Florida Part I

Our trip to Florida started off with a very smooth flight to Tampa, followed by a pleasant surprise at the hotel. I had booked free rooms at the Crowne Plaza in Tampa using my 1,000's of points accumilated while traveling to Oklahoma. When I checked in, the guy behind the desk notified me of a upgrade to my room. He said I will be staying in the penthouse! We felt like rock stars. The room, well actually rooms, was huge...

The next morning, we started off the day like any good southener would: A Waffle House breakfast.

Virginia liked this place even more that Cracker Barrel, so that must say something. William, our most gracious waiter, was 'typical' Waffle House quality!

I think this may be our Christmas card for 2009!

After a short drive down to Palm Island, we jumped into the boat and made it over to our house. While this house was much bigger, and much nicer than previous houses, it was a bit off the ocean beach (about 9 houses away). It did have a pool however, so Sylvia tried that out. She absolutely loved the water.

Speaking of water, bath time was done perfectly using the deep sink in the laudry room. Sylvia took a liking to the bright silver faucet... Luckily she didn't turn on the hot water while bathing, but that is what four hands are for! I think we are in trouble now, with her love of shiny things.

I won't go into details, but I was somewhat ill for a couple days. I finally got out of the house and went for a walk with Jamie and Sylvia. Isn't that a great picture?

Here is the path to get down to the ocean. Missy, Liz, and Mom all walked the beach for hours and hours collecting about 2 tons of shells. Luckily I wasn't in charge of carrying those home!

Sylvia seeing the ocean (well actually Gulf of Mexico) for the first time.

Another great shot if the little one. She was a very, very good baby throughout the entire vacation.

We will have more to tell, including more pictures, shortly. Bye for now.

Florida Teaser

We have a bunch of pictures to go through, but I thought this one might hold you off until we have time to get a few more uploaded.

Bottom line: We had a good time and are looking forward to 'relaxing' at home.

GRRrrrrrrrrr

Grrrrrr I am a tiger, well actually I am a giraffe. I am not really sure what sound a giraffe makes so I will pretend that they are scary like tigers.

I had a pretty good weekend. My teeth are killing me so grandma Charlie felt bad for me and took me shopping on Friday. Grandma doesn't like my moms fashion sense so she tries to get me nicely matching outfits so that mom doesn't make me look silly. Grandma has her work cut out for her.

I went to Kasey's b-day party on Saturday. I played with her toys, but mom didn't let me have any cake. Dad was curling (getting drunk) all weekend so mom got together with the other curling widows. They went out to eat at a yummy Afganistan restaurant and then they went to the rollar derby. While mom was out having fun I got to play with Ben and Bonnie. I gave them a little bit of a hard time but I think they didn't mind to much because we did lots of snuggling.

Today Trinity came over with Chazo. He is a crazy pooch that doesn't get much time to play in the snow. Lucy got on his nerves, but I think in a couple more visits they will be best buddies. Lucy is pretty persistant and most people/dogs usually give into her charms. Lucy and I get along pretty good. She always makes sure that my face is clean and she cleans up after me.

Well it's getting late and I need to get to bed before my teeth start hurting again. Have a good Monday. -Sylvie
