At birth she weighed in a 6 lb 11 oz and was 20" long. She has almost doubled in weight since birth, but only about three pounds more than Adam at birth!

Dr. said all is well with Sylvia... see ya again in 3 months!

Then

Now

She Stole My Spot!

She may have stole my spot, but I didn't have the heart to kick her out.

Looks like Dad got to 'sleep in' this morning... or as he likes to call it "Babysitting"

Grandmother Approved

While Sylvia has been rolling over for some time, she recently mastered the technique. Jamie captured her in action tonight after daycare.

Alligator Raslin'

Wanted to post a picture of Sylvia doing a little wrestling with her new alligator. The gator was one of her many Christmas gifts... I wonder what she is thinking looking into the mouth of this guy?

Later Gator...

The Three Bears

Here is a picture from this summer. I think if the three bears had smart wools they would look like this. Grandma is getting Sylvie hooked on smart wools at a young age. Next it will be Keens.

Happy 1/2 Birthday to Sylvia!

Wow time has gone fast. Her new tricks are rolling over and sitting up, but she will be getting her drivers license before we know it. Ahh I don't even want to think about that. I will probably be sleep deprived then too but for different reasons.

Help!!! We need a new booger sucker!

Just wondering if anyone knows where to get one of these??? Lucy thought that it looked tasty. We can't seem to find the kind that you get from the hospital. The other types that you can buy don't wok as well and this tool is critical if you have a stuffy baby. Thanks

Happy Birthday Dad!

I love you! I have a really cute slobbery picture, but you hid the picture file on the computer so I will have to put it up later. Love, Slyvers

Parsnips!

Sylvie thinks parsnips are yummy. I don't think I have eaten to many of them in the past but I made some for her today and they weren't to bad.

I also made peas today so that will be our be next adventure. After peas I think I will be on the look out for more white veggies.

I'm a big girl now!

So Adam was eating rice cereal at 10 days old, it took a little longer for Sylvia, but we figured that Jan 1st was a perfect time to try it out.

I think it went pretty good... She spit out only about half of what went in, so I would call that a successful attempt.

Yummy

Time for a bath now...

I wanted to include a video of the event as well... It goes on for a couple more minutes, but I figured you would get the idea.

Chritmas at The Brodd's

Only a week late on this one...

On Dec 26th, we headed out the Hutchinson for Sylvia's first Brodd Christmas. Things were laid back and relaxing. We enjoyed the traditional homemade ice-cream, way too much food and drink, and of course the great presents. For those that don't know, our family does a great job with the 'gag' or 'white elephant' gifts. I can't speak for everyone, but I think I had about 20 presents with my name on them, and only 3 or so where 'real' presents. It was great fun and we all had a blast.

Missy and her Stylish Hat

Finally, one last video to share. I am not sure if this present was categorized under 'real' or 'gag'... I will let you be the judge. I love Grandpa's comment by the way!
